The Batong rescue team received a call from Zhengzhou City Emergency Bureau at 4:10 a.m., January 7, 2023, of a compressed gas tank truck rollover and the resulting chemical leaking.
After the Scene investigation, crews were able to identify the leaking chemical was natural gas, and the tank pressure was 2.5kg at that moment so it required the highest-level alert and immediate evacuation.
Strictly under the Hazardous Chemical Management Procedure, the crews closed the road, prevented open flames, and evacuated people from the scene. With assistance from the truck driver, the crews opened the safety valve, returning the natural gas pressure gauge to zero before the vehicle was lifted. It took the rescue team roughly 5 hours to clear out the toxic area and accident scene. At 9 a.m., the road closure was removed and the emergency was cleared. The accident truck was then transported to a special parking lot for hazardous chemical vehicles in Batong company.
Batong Rescue Team, as a private rescue team, actively cooperates with authorities to handle dangerous goods accidents. Give Batong Group a thumbs up!
